Peter
Gorwin is proud of founding the Photographic Arts Group that operates
under the auspices of the Escondido Arts Partnership. It was formed
over 3 years ago for the purpose of promoting, exhibiting, and educating
photographers throughout the San Diego area.
Last year he exhibited his fine art prints at the Ordover Gallery. He
says,
“Some of my images are digital collages. I love controlling my
images from the camera, to the computer, to hanging it on the wall.
I find that the digital process transcends the control that I have when
using the analog process alone. Some of my work involves alternative
processes and silver gelatin generated from digital transparencies.
I prefer to generate other images from professional inkjet printers.”
Over the last couple of decades he has won prizes in various competitions,
and been published in various books and magazines. He also has taught
high school photography, and much of his commercial work relates to
retouching, design, and portraiture. He attended Columbia College of
Communications, and Loyola University in Chicago during the late '60's,
and he received his first formal instruction in photography in an ROP
class during the 80's. In 1992, he completed a Degree in Photography
from Palomar College.
Thanks to an invitation from Stephen Burns (Head of the San Diego Photoshop
Users’ Group, and Coordinator for the International Photo Exhibition
at the San Diego County Fair), I’ll be showing everyone how to
use some techniques this Summer. Click HERE
